Welcome to the home of Exchange Trading in Scotland and
beyond. Our aim is to provide a simple forum for LETS groups,
Community Exchanges and Timebanks to trade and share without
having to use bank money. If you are new to LETS it’s
a bit like a swap club where members let each other know
what their offers and wants are. Instead of using money
to trade with we use Exchange Tokens called Scotias. Initially,
members can earn or spend up to 500 Scotias. You don’t
even have to earn them before you spend them! The members
give each other the ‘loan’ interest free with
the trust that they will be earned back in the future. CXN
keeps the accounts up to date and publishes them in the
seasonal issues of Scotia News which includes everyone’s
Offers, wants and current balances. So members can receive
help from other members in return for them helping others
in the network. Its simple, sustainable and fun.

Membership is open to Social and Environmental Organisations
who embrace the principles of mutuality and reciprocity.
In 2003 this presently includes 22 Local Exchange Trading
Groups representing over 1600 individuals and over 60 Direct
Account Member Organisations.
